ABOUT

We are the new Centre that has opened in Tralee. We are based in Holy Family School and offer a pick-up service from local schools within Tralee town for children attending our After School Club. We understand that Parents have busy schedules going to work, getting dinners ready, helping children with homework, providing sport and fun activities.  Our After School programme is an answer.

We are different then other After Schools. Not only collect your child from school and help with homework, but also offer very attractive activities - zumba, yoga, music, arts and crafts, games, sports, drum workshops.

From September 2021 we will also open our gates for children aged 2,6 - 5 years.

Our Preschool will be open from 9:05 in the morning until 1:35 PM. ECCE session - free Preschool will finish at 12:05 but we offer extra 1.5 hour at affordable price. You can also apply for NSC scheme to get reductions for these extra hours.

In our Preschool we will have HighScope Curriculum, which is based on individual children's interests, active learning, problem solving.
HighScope is a quality approach to early childhood care and education which has been shaped and developed by research and practice over 50 years. The central belief of HighScope is that children construct their own learning by doing and being actively involved in working with materials, people and ideas.

The HighScope classroom is a materials-rich learning environment that is purposely arranged to allow children to explore and build social relationships, often with well-defined areas for different activities.

HighScope is built on the principles of active learning and children's initiative. In order to develop children's critical thinking, self-confidence, and problem-solving abilities, we foster strong teacher-child interactions and a robust Plan-Do-Review process.

 CHILDREN SAFETY

Here at Wise Owl After School,  we are committed to provide a safe environment for children and young people. Children’s welfare and safety is our top priority. We comply with Children First: National Guidelines for Child Protection and Welfare. To help us achieve this, we have a Child Protection Policy and Procedures which guide our work.

Parents/guardians are children’s primary careers. We work in partnership with parents/guardians to ensure children’s safety and enjoyment of the activities we offer.

If you have any questions or concerns you can talk to Anna, our Designated Person for Child Protection.
